Essie Cocktail Bling

Essie Cocktail Bling

I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and if you don't celebrate it, I hope you enjoyed your Thursday! I have something simple for you all today; a simple swatch of an old favorite.

I mentioned this color last week or so, and I realized that I never swatched it. So, here is is: the beautiful color that is Essie Cocktail Bling.

I love this muted purple shade. It goes with nearly everything, and is perfect for fall and winter. It wears beautifully, and only needs two coats to be fully opaque. Application is simple, though it's a bit thick (the bottle is nearly two years old now), but not as thick a I was expecting.

I love this color.

Essie The Lace Is On

Essie The Lace Is On

Essie The Lace Is On

It's been so long since I've swatched a nail polish, and even longer since I've picked one up. I was in Target last week and I spotted this pretty little number; The Lace Is On by Essie. It's from their new Fall 2013 collection.

Wow is this color beautiful. It's a Fuchsia base with what seems like pink, kind of like magenta, shimmer. Very nice, and very easy to apply. It took me two coats to achieve an opaque finish, but one semi-thick coat should do the trick.

The other polishes in this collection are also beautiful, and I hope to pick up a few more. I love the metallic feel of For The Twill Of It, and there's something about Cashmere Bathrobe and Vested Interest that I love. I'm glad to see that not all of these aren't muted, and there are a couple of bright colors to choose from.

What colors do you like to wear in the fall? Are you excited for the season to begin? I am. I love cold weather.

Julep Kylie - Magnet

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Magnet directional arrows? I really have no idea what to call that, and I realize it's kind of misleading if you don't know the context of it. Those are the directions that I pointed the magnet, if you are confused.

Anywho I tried Kylie the other day and decided to play around with my nail wheels again. For some odd reason I was able to get the magnet to work on there, and not one my actual nails. Highly annoying, no idea what I was doing wrong. If you want a swatch without the magnet being used, just let me know and I will get right on that. It's actually a pretty color on its own.

Have you tried a magnetic nail polish? What do you think of the trend? Personally, I think it's silly. Looks cool, though, I have to admit.

I really like this color! It's really long lasting, and the color is true to its name. The brush, or at least mine, was angled at one end which is odd, and it makes applying the polish evenly a pain. The brush itself is a wide and flat brush, similar to the infamous OPI brushes that a lot of polish companies are trying to achieve.

This was one of my first colors form Julep, and it was around the time I was obsessed with metallicy shades. I also did a comparison with this and Poetic a while back, and this one is more on the purple side. Very nice though, glad they're not similar.

OPI Honk If You Love OPI

Friday, June 22, 2012

I have been busy swatching today! All of the colors for Project Re-Swatch have now ben swatched, and I will sporadically post them throughout the weekend and the week. I wanted to get it all done because there is talk of a tropical storm forming in the Gulf. Oh joy! Being on the west coast of Florida, we are right in the way of the outer storms, and it's supposed to rain later today, and over the weekend. They have no idea what will happen with the storm, but I wanted to be sure just in case it gets really dark, and most of the colors I swatched didn't show up well with my lights when I tried to swatch them a while ago.

On to the swatches!

OPI Ink.

Friday, June 8, 2012

This one I purchased at a grocery store believe it or not. $7.89 to be exact. Talk about a great find!!! I also say some DS there too, but I don't know how much they cost. I don't shop there often, it's out of the way, but I want to pop in there again to get some more cheap lovelies. This is Ink., an incredibly beautiful shimmering duo-chrome. Not sure if that is what it is, but that's what I am calling it! It has bits of shimmer, purple, and blue in it. Spectacular color.

OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender

Thursday, June 7, 2012

I believe this color is still in the main collection, and available at most places where OPI is sold. It's part of the China collection released many years ago, but I found it on the regular stands at Ulta. Beautiful lavender.

I'm got behind in my posting for Project Re-Swatch. Oops! I have a good reason, I swear, but I wont burden you all with it unless you really care to know lol. It's nothing serious, I promise. I swatched about 6 colors today, so I should be set for a bit at least the rest of the week.

If you read any posts about this polish from earlier this year/late last year you will know that it is one of my all time favorites. The same goes for Mermaid's Tears which I swatched earlier today. I can't believe I only have these half decent swatches of two of my favorite polishes! I've work them both quite a lot, I just never got around to swatching them I suppose. As with most glitter/shimmers, I had issues capturing the shine on camera. I took a video indoors yesterday with it on. The lighting was perfect, and as always, this is true to color. Also, there is no sound.

Totally realized I never swatched this color! Anywho, here it is. Not quite sure if it's pink or purple, I labeled it under both just in case!
