New Layout

Monday, August 6, 2012

It's Monday, and that means my break is over! I really need to start taking weekends off. If I keep posting like I was the past two months, I'm going to get burned out, and run out of ideas.

I'll admit, I didn't completely take a break from blogger. I had every intention on staying away from it, even almost blocked it for the 3 days, but the design bug bit me, and I was on a roll! I created a whole new blog layout, and I must say that I am really happy with it. The only thing that I will not claim are the fonts, which are *Windsor Hand*, *Skinny* (dots/periods), *Helvetica Neue Light*, and *Jenna Sue*. I created a mock up in another blog, taking screenshots of the elements that are on this page so I could get a feel of it. I'm surprised that I'm more comfortable with html than I thought. I didn't do too much, but what I did really made a difference.

Here are some screen shots, it wont go up for a little bit, I'm still trying to decide what to do with the footer. Not sure if I should leave it how it is (hearts will go, and it will be solid white), if I should jazz it up (aka complete overhaul), or just scratch it and put the stuff that's there somewhere else. Things to ponder during the week. Any suggestions?

Yes, my hearts are taking a leave of absence. A few quick updates, I created a pillow! It's small but it's a start. I also tried an ombre again, failed. I will be filming try #3, so it should be interesting to document my frustrations.

Ok, that's about it. I'm a bit busy today, and wasn't able to take any pictures, but I will have a product review up soon-ish, and hopefully I can figure out that darn ombre sponge thing. It really shouldn't be this hard.

p.s. the toodles image will probably stay =)

I warn you, lots of cute in this post

Taking a few days off from posting for a bit. Probably until Monday. I'm in a funk where a lot of things aren't working out right. I tried an ombre manicure, and I just failed.

So, to tide you all over, and to not make this post a picture-less one, I want to give you an update on Baby Gandalf, who has a yeast infection. That's right folks, rabbits can have yeast infections. They can also be diabetic. Who knew? We're taking care of him, so no worries about that. On to the pictures!

These pictures are from when he was 2-3 weeks old.

That's his momma, who look nothing alike! I blame genetics. The annoying and recessive part of genetics. Her name is Tea Cup.

What's in my purse - Park Edition!

Thursday, August 2, 2012

Hello! Today I am going to show you what I take with me to a park. Since graduating high school I find that I take medicine with me more often than I ever have, but I'll get more into that later. I never used to carry anything with me into the parks (Disney), hated the bag check line, never needed anything, etc. Now that I do, I figured it would be useful to show you all what I think is essential to my park activities.

My purse, as if you don't already know, is the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Raffia in Neon Yellow.

The only think I threw in there was my iPod because I took it out when I got home. It's usually in there though.

Wallet
In here I keep some cash, debit cards, important insurance cards (Health and AAA), and a few misc. cards. The less the better. Keeps things small.

Mentos UP2U Gum

Hand sanitizer
In a little Boots No7 pouch

Julep Lip Gloss
Never use it, but it's there

iPod and Nook
Not really useful in the park, but you never know when you'll be waiting for something, or someone (parades and such)

Pills/Tums
Since I graduated I get heartburn at anytime. Highly annoying. It's not frequent enough for me to pinpoint what causes it, or bad enough to take one of those no heartburn pills daily.

Baby powder
Another change since high school. I wear shorts! Always had big thighs (I blame being into sports when I was younger). Chaffing. Ow! I used to be muscle, but not anymore

Park pass
Pretty important. I actually tried to get in with my husband's pass... Oops!

Two Summers Eve wipes
Because one isn't enough? I honestly don't know, I'm a hoarder with that kind of stuff.

Julep hand cream in SPF 30
Always forget I have it, so I never use it.

Alavert
Allergies! Tastes like mint, really strange

Basin Lip Balm
Second to Burt's Bees, which is the love of my lippy life (that was awkward).

Misc.
Panty Liner
Bobby pins and hair ties
Mirror
Lastly, 2 nail files (see, I hoard!)

I hope this little guide helps! Unless you need it, it's important to keep things simple, and to the bare necessities. A zipped crossbody is an easy way to hold your stuff without worrying about setting the purse down, and forgetting it. It's always with you, and safe.

A simple wallet would also suffice if you didn't need any of this stuff.

Ps: This will probably be the last time you see this bag, in case you're sick of seeing it! =D

July Favorites - So much pink!

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

I don't know why, but I have been on a pink nail polish kick this month. This is only what you've seen as "favorites", you don't want to know how many I actually wore! It's an addiction, and believe it or not pink is not my favorite color. I know right, who knew?

Nail Polish
Essie Your Hut or Mine
Julep Freida
Essie Pink-a-Boo
Julep Ellie

Aveeno Daily Detoxifying Scrub
The Aveeno scrub smells so good! I got it as a sample from the summer Target bag. It works really well, I want to get a full sized bottle of it.

Rebecca Minkoff Raffia Mini Mac
I don't know why, but I am obsessed with smaller bags for summer. To me, summer is about being airy and free. Not being boggled down by a huge purse. It looks small, but it holds a lot! Much more than my little black purse does.

What is your favorite color to wear during the summer?  Do you prefer bright colors, or neutral ones?
