I am loving this manicure. I saw something similar on another blog, and two colors immediately came to mind; Zoya Mia (of course), and Zoya Jules. I wore this combo to a wedding last week, with Jules on my toes, but I didn't think about having Jules as an accent nail. I saw that post, and decided to give it a shot.

It will probably be my go-to color combination for this fall. That, and the shirt I'm wearing from H&M. I'm in love with it! I can't wait for it to get cold all day in Florida. Lately it's been hovering around mid to low 80s during the day.

What color combinations are you loving for this fall? Anything I should try out?

Sally Hansen for Easter

I used one of the Sally Hansen strips that I picked up on clearance last year. I originally intended on wearing some with butterflies imprinted on them (also picked up on clearance, yes I've been holding onto them for this long), but these were such a pain, I decided to stick with these for the week. I used the gel from the insta gel strips to make them last longer, and so far they're holding out. The pattern reminds me of a picnic blanket.

I don't know if they got old, or I got a bad batch. The first pack I tried gave me the biggest headache. The clear strip that you're supposed to pull off kept getting stuck to the nail polish strip, causing me to rip about 7 of the 10 strips. One of the ones I did manage to get off lost it's stickiness almost immediately. Basically my pointer finger, and my pinky are the only ones that have the strips from that pack on them (left hand), and my pinky I had to fight with to save it. The other pack was fine, no issues with it at all. It worked normally. I want to say it was a bad batch. Logic tells me that both packs would be ruined. I'll let you all know if the butterfly one is like this. This means that the strips could have an expiration date, but I personally don't think that's the case.

I fought way too hard to just let them come off after a few days. Taking them off is not going to be fun..

Anywho, I hope you all have a fantastic Easter! I'll probably blog before then, I haven't had much to say lately. Nothing to review, no beauty hauls, nothing really. I have a book haul that I could do, but I'm trying not to bog the blog down with book stuff. I've been good with two a month, and the occasional review.

What are your plans for Easter? Anything special going on the nails? Last year I did a little layering manicure.

Favorite manicure of the moment

I love the gradient look, I hope it never goes out of style. Lately I've been wearing Butter London Rosie Lee on top of Julep Pippa. I had to put so many coats of top coat it's crazy! I am not a fan of a grainy finish.

A few posts ago I mentioned that I was going to do a nail polish video once my Coterie order came in. It's here, but I am going to wait until Julep gets here. If I was only getting two polish, I wouldn't have worried about it, but I'm getting four. Some will get the boot from my drawer, and the inside will change because I'm always changing how Julep is stored. It's just a mess in there.

Have you tried a gradient manicure? What colors did you loose? I'm always trying to figure out more combinations.

My July 4th Manicure

I apologize for not post this yesterday. This is the first time I did anything related to this holiday. I'll be honest, it's not one of my favorites. Since I first started showing rabbits any holiday that includes fireworks gives me anxiety. Having rabbits for nearly half my life, and most living outside, you can imagine how worried I was about them. We're quite close to where our town celebrations, and it's not uncommon for me to bring in the ones who look frightened. Most are not bothered by the noise. A lot of mine have gone through the noise before, so I felt a little more relieved. Because of this I was feeling partially patriotic so I decided to take the simple wrap and follow the Julep Pinterest NOTD idea.

As you can see I made a smaller tip, I prefer this look with my French tips. I also only put two starts, and placed them on specific nails. This nail polish.. *sigh* America you are not my favorite nail polish. The way I described this to my husband is that I feel like someone took a glitter sh*t in my bottle. The brush was covered completely in clumps. It wasn't too bad to apply, but it was clumpy. With this polish, from what I've seen, is 50/50 on clumpness. I did have stars in mine, and there were reports of people not have any. It was also a pain in the rear end to get smooth and I applied at least 5 coats of top coat, which will explain the bubbles.

Regardless of the headache, it looks pretty!

NOTD - Blue Glitter Gradient

Another Glitter Nail of the Day for you gals. This time I went for a darker blue with a gold glitter. I don't like this one quite as much as the other one, but it's all about trial and error. I do want to say that I have plans on picking up some more glitter next month. I love the way it looks, and I feel like the pictures don't capture the amount of glitter that is really on m nails. I will say that it took 20 minutes to remove the one I had on prior. 20 whole minutes! Oh my gosh that's a long time. 3 cotton balls too.

NOTD - Glitter Gradient

Good day lovelies, today I have for you a nail of the day! I love this look, I actually got the idea from a blogger/youtuber Louise from Sprinkle Of Glitter. Not sure why I never thought of this, I've tried to do a gradient effect in the past without the glitter, but it failed if you're wondering. Creating a gradient effect with glitter just never crossed my mind until I watched the video. I like this combination the best. Unfortunately my glitter stash is incredibly lacking, so I was only able to try the effect with gold and silver glitters at the moment.

It's pretty simple, and if you want to try it you can read her blog, or watch her video on the subject. Let me know if you try it! I would love to see more combinations. I'm obsessing over this, and it makes me want to get Project Re-swatch over with already.

That's all I have for today, and I may be back tomorrow with a review. Depends on if I'm completely happy with it or not (I'm picky). I'll give you a hint: Grapefruit sugar scrub. Yummy!

Mod Style Manicure

I got this idea from Orly's diagonal french manicure.

I took a stab at this, and tried out several color combinations before I actually went for the style. It's a really simple process. First, I applied a base coat, let that dry for 10 minutes. Then I applied two coats my base color, allowing 10 minutes after each coat. I actually went out for a few hours, and this allowed my nails to dry fully before tackling the second color with tape. It's extremely important to let that base color to sit for a while, and dry completely. If not, the tape will stick to that base color, and rip it right off.


Once your comfortable with the dry time, line up your strip of scotch tape, at whatever angle you want, with how ever much space you choose. Then, make sure the tape is completely on the nail, with no bubbles in the tape. I had issues with the bottom corner of the tape. It's easier if you line the bottom corner of the tape, with the bottom corner of the nail (I hope that makes sense).

When you're ready, go ahead and apply the top color. Try not to let the color sit too long before applying. If you do, they will bond with the tape, making the rest of the tip peel. It's best to peel off the tape right after you're done applying the tip color. This shouldn't mess up the color.

When your done, let it dry for a bit, and apply a base coat. You should end up with a design similar to this:

I paired OPI's Skull and Glossbones as my base color with OPI's I Vant To Be A-Lone Star as my tip color.
