First thing I want to say is that this particular product isn't currently on the Avon website. Avon likes to take items off the site and then put them back on at a different time. This is the type of product that I would see some Reps carrying on hand, and keeping in stock. Also if you have a local flea market, check it out. I know the one close to me has a few venders that sale Avon. Ebay and Amazon are also an option.

Other than little disclaimer (do I also need to mention that this isn't mine, it's actually my mom's?), we can talk about the product!

It a simple concept. You smudge your nail polish, and you apply a coat or two of this top coat-esque formula to your nails and viola! Smudge be gone.

I applied two coats to my middle finger, as that is where I managed to smudge my nail polish the other day. It was quite difficult to capture the smudge, but I think you can tell where the smudge is. It does have to dry, like a top coat, so you will have to careful after using it so you don't smudge it.

I was impressed at how well it actually worked. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, to be honest. Smudge correcting was one of the things that I liked Seche Vite for, and what made it stand out of the crowd against other nail polishes. 

After the two coats dried I did notice that the smudge is slightly visible, though it looks like a small dimple is on my nail, and that isn't even noticeable unless you know it's there, and you're looking for it. I couldn't even capture it on camera. I don't think it would cover and fix a larger smudge, but I think it would make it better. Definitely a better option than starting over, if you ask me.

Also, I'm quite pleased with the shine it adds. It's much glossier than the top coats I've been using, which is just an added bonus that I wasn't expecting.

Are there a lot of smudge corrector products out there? Aside from Seche Vite, I can't think of any. I wouldn't be surprised if Sally Hansen has one, maybe OPI, but other than that I'm at a loss.

Either way, it's a good product, not a complete fix, but a good option if it was ever needed. It'll improve on most smudges, I believe, but not all. I remember using this a while back on a smudge on my thumb, and it didn't do much. It's kind of hit or miss. In this particular case, it made a major improvement.

Avon Candle | Peppermint Twist

My husband burnt it before I got around to taking pictures. To be fair to him, I've had it for like a month.

Peppermint and I are good old friend. It's easily my favorite scent, and flavor. Especially for this type of weather.

When I saw that Avon had come out with another candle line, I was a bit skeptical. The last one I tried was a tiny thing, that cost me $5 (normally $10), and it was horrible. No scent came off when it was burning, and I'm being generous when I say that half of it actually burned.

This one struck me as a Bath & Body Works type of candle, i.e. 3 wick and a decent size. It's cheaper at $9.99 for 11oz (14.5oz for $20 at BBW). I can't speak too much on burn time (claim is 30 hour), but the above picture is after about an hour.

The scent payoff is amazing. That's one of the reasons I love the BBW candles so much. They give off a rich aroma that's exactly what you smell in the jar. It fills the whole room up quickly, but isn't nauseating.

For this particular candle I was a bit disappointed with the scent itself. It doesn't smell like peppermint. Not even in the slightest. I was excited too, since the BBW peppermint ones are usually mixed with chocolate; a scent that doesn't go over too well with me. It smells more like cookies, or something else really sweet. Which actually makes sense given the description; "Peppermint sweetened with fluffy marshmallow and vanilla...". That's all true minus the peppermint. Either way, the scent is nice.

Do I recommend? As a whole, I actually do. These candles seem like they'll be great for the upcoming season, and do pack a punch. For this particular candle I can't recommend if you're looking for something with a pepperminty aroma to it. Definitely check them out, and maybe your Avon Representative can order you a sample pack so you can smell them all.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara | Review

Avon is coming out with a new mascara, called Mega Effects, and it's one that I've never seen before. I saw this in my mom's "What's New" catalog for upcoming campaigns, and I asked her if I could order it early. Obviously, she said yes, and a few weeks later it arrived (this past Saturday). I chose brown/black simply because I was apprehensive to try this out, so I went with the safer, and less dramatic color.

It's such a strange little device, and when I first put it on I was like 'whoa'. Way too much mascara. You really have to be careful when applying. It's really not clumping, and applies evenly. The name Mega Effects suits it well.

Basically it's a wide brush with an moveable handle that sits in a little pot. It has a cap, that doesn't really serve much purpose.

The odd angle that is typically necessary for traditional wands is no longer necessary as this requires a more direct approach. It's adjustable applicator makes it even easier to use, and contorting your hand/wrist/arm is no longer necessary

The brush itself has two different lengths. On the top it's long, and wispy. That maximizes the volume and helps add that Mega Effect that this mascara is going for. I also noticed a dramatic increase in length, which is quite scary for me, since I have long lashes to begin with. Too much and they'll be touching my brows.

For a softer look, and not as voluminous or long you can use the sides which are much shorter. Below you will see a picture of me trying to be careful with the mascara. It's easy to go overboard with this mascara, and if it's what you're looking for, it's great.

Overall I really like this mascara. At first I thought this was a gimmicky product, and that it would be just about the applicator, so I didn't expect too much. It's an innovative idea, and the formula is great. The best of both worlds, in a way.

Swatch-A-Thon! | Avon eyeshadow pallets.

Long time so see! Sorry about that, I was sick, and had no desire to blog at all. I come to you today with some Avon eye shadow swatches. These are not mine, they are my moms so I can't do a review on them for you all. I tried to get the swatch itself true to color, and I believe all of them are. The picture of the product may not be 100%, but it's as close as I could get it without having to go outside, if that would even help.

Avon Loose Powder Eyeshadow | swatch/mini review

Bronzetone and Enchanted Lilac

The colors are beautiful, Bronzetone is a pale orange loaded with shimmer! Enchanted Lilac is a lilac (shocker) which is also loaded with shimmer. Opacity is ok on both, they're not very pigmented but they are buildable. 

The packaging is the weirdest one that I've seen. What is with the opening? Does anyone know what the most efficient way of getting the powder out of the container? I assume it's meant to be swirled around in the lid, but I can't imagine it would be effected when the powder starts to run low with how the top of the container is made. The top has to come off somehow. Staying power is a bit meh. It's not the best, but not the worse.

These eye shadows are a whopping $7.00 off sale for 1.8g/0.6oz each. Outrageous! So not worth it, in my opinion. I bought mine when they were on sale. Are they worth the price? Not in the slightest. Product link.

Avon Ultra Luxury Eye Liner in Eggplant | a review

I feel like Avon/Mark is such an underrated brand, and I can honestly see why. Who wants to actually hunt down a sales rep, order, then hope you get your stuff within the next week? It's not a very effective way of doing things, since campaigns usually run for two weeks at a time. You don't need to hunt down a rep to buy some of their products, you can buy directly from their website, and have it shipped to you. Shipping to a rep saves on shipping though. While I do believe their apparel and accessories can be dodgy on the quality, their makeup is actually pretty good. With all of their lack of hype and what not, there really isn't reviewed all that often. Since I buy a lot of my makeup from them, I figured the least I could do is review it for all of you.

I love wearing purple eyeliner. I feel like it stands out with my brown eyes, and any eye color really (especially green!). This little booger was a pain to get a hold of! I ordered it two different times, and each time it never showed up. Eventually my mom ordered it for herself and forgot about it. When she looked at it she was confused, and knew I had been wanting it and gave it to me. Apparently ordering it was an accident, but I'm not too sure about the exact details.

The swatch on the left is a plain line, and the one on the right is showing how it smudges. That's not bad when you consider that I was trying to smudge it, and was pressing pretty hard a few times. It does have shimmer in it, but it's not in your face "omg glitter!". It stays on for most of the day. It's hard for me to judge because my eyes get watery very often, and I find myself rubbing my eyes constantly so it doesn't look like I'm crying (curse you allergies). Even with all that, there is some still there at the end of the day. I consider that a good thing.

This eyeliner retails for $6.00, but more often than not Avon offers the pencils at a discount for $1.99. There are 6 colors; Black, Dark Brown, Khaki, Charcoal, Eggplant, and Midnight Blue.
