Another year goes by

I can't believe that it's been a whole year since I made my very first post. It was a haul, where I showed my newest polishes. I remember that day, actually. I bought the OPI at Ulta where they had a buy two, get either a top coat or a base coat free. I then went to Target and fell in love with Chinchilly. I was still a newlywed, and I just had this burning desire to blog. I know my blog may not look like much, and to be honest it's only been about 4 months since I began promoting the blog other than on tPF signature. To be honest, I'm surprised I made the decision to list my blog on sites like Hellocotton, and Bloglovin', and even join iFabbo and the Beauty Blogazons. It was something that I started doing for me, to share my obsession without feeling crazy. I enjoy taking photos, improving my blog, talking to fellow bloggers. It's a nice little family that I've found, and I am so glad I made the leap this summer.

I originally made this blog specifically for nail polish. It's safe to say that my nail polish collection has increased massively. It's a number that I wouldn't dream of when I first started. Over the months, I realized that swatching was going to get boring, and I began to branch out into some posts about my life (however not nearly as popular), reviews (something I really enjoy), and other types of beauty related posts. It's a little bit of everything, with some bundles of fluff thrown in there (bunnies, if you don't know).

Bottom line: It really is amazing in what can happen in only a year. 

To those of you who have been with me for a while, thank you. To those of you who have just joined me, welcome! All of you make it enjoyable for me to keep up with this little hobby, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Stay wonderful, and happy birthday adore-a-polish ❤

My foundation is the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in Porcelain Ivory. It's actually a bit too dark for me, but it is the palest color in this line.

The case is from Mark, it is not available yet (I got it from my mom's "What's New" catalog). It actually comes in a set along with a powder (it reminds me of MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish, which is what I think they were going for), eye shadow trio, and a lip gloss. All are going to be available individually in  one of the upcoming campaigns.

The rest of my makeup is on top of my desk. If I feel like changing something that day I will just get up and grab it. It's nice to have one bag that has everything that I need to do my makeup for the day. You might notice that there are no lip products in this bag. When I go to work I typically just wear chapstick, and when I go out I'll just pick one out as I need it. I also have about 4 different items in my purse at any given time.

October Julep box and mini review!

It seems like months since I've gotten a box. The last box I received ( June or July) I didn't show you guys because I was just *meh* about the whole program at the time. The girls and I over at tPF are kind of miffed at them. All that drama, and the massive amounts of colors that I already have, has made me not want a box for a while now.

What's inside:

  Candy Corn! (I have been craving this lately)

This round I ordered two add-ons which are on their way to me as I speak. Those are Caroline, and Boris and Nicole - pictured below. I will post about them, and swatches when they arrive.


I am not sure what I am going to do with the glitter. In all honesty it's probably going to be chucked in a drawer. I can't think of a reason I would need glitter in the near future, but I'm sure someone who is into going all out for Halloween would be glad to have this handy.


The quick dry drops smell like lavender. I was really surprised at that. I actually couldn't pinpoint what color it was, then I looked at the ingredients and lavender was listed. I tried it on a swatch with Eloise and Sabrina and it left a weird ripple. I'm going to have to try it on my actual nails to see if that is permanent.



Sabrina crackles really well. I had to put on two coats because I misjudged the size of the nail (I usually do that), and above is the finished crackle. For me it's hit or miss with these things. Sometimes you can control it, other times you need a bit of luck. This time I think the crackle is formulated really well. Well done Julep! Eloise is beautiful! I do not have a blue this color, and it's actually darker in real life than it is in the picture.

What do you think about crackle? Is it in or out? I personally have always liked this trend, even when I was a little girl. It adds a unique twist to a manicure, and no two nails look alike.
