I'm not going to lie, I am a total newbie to liquid eyeliner. However, I think this was a good thing when reviewing this product. I realized how easy it was to apply. I messed up in the beginning, but eventually I got the hang of it. The supper pointy end made the application a breeze.

I am worried that the tip will wear out over time, but I can't be sure since I've only been using it for about two weeks, or so. As far as normal wear goes, it stays on like a dream, all day wear for sure. When I first received it, I swatched it on my hand immediately, and then went to sleep. It was there the next day, looking as fresh as it did when I applied it the previous day.

The thing I first notice about Pixi is the packaging. It's always so cute, and it's what caused me to buy my first product: Pixi Glow nail polish (which I have yet to swatch). I see it at Target all the time, and I was a bit iffy on the brand. It's quite expensive. This eyeliner costs $16. I actually think it's worth the price. Pricey. It does the job, and does it well.

Whenever a product claims to be waterproof, I can't help but test it out, in full force. What a better way to test it than to jump into the shower with the eyeliner on my hands? In the picture directly above the bottom two lines are the ones that got wet, and the top two were applied after I was finished. I was care full not to rub the back of my hand, but I certainly wasn't keeping it out of the water. Think of it as my torrential downpour test. It did fade a bit, but the staying power was amazing! As far as waterproofness goes: You're set as long as you don't rub the eyeliner. Keep your hands away! If you do, it's a smudgy mess, and gets everywhere. It comes off easily with remover, but is quite difficult to remove without it.

I have a new love for liquid eyeliner, something I wasn't sure that I was ever going to venture into.

What was the first liquid eyeliner you ever tried? Did you completely mess up? I sure did! Which type of eyeliner is your favorite? I feel really comfortable with pencil, but liquid eyeliner has caught my interest.

The Constant Search

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that every girl must be in need of that perfect pair of jeans. You know, the pair that shape the thighs and lift the bum; that sit nicely on the hips with no gaping waistband. Jeans that avoid the creation of that dreaded muffin top.

We long for that moment when your fingers reach out to perform the all important material test, and discover that supple denim. The moment your eyes move down to check the pockets, the zipper, and the cut of the leg. When they sweep for any outlandish logos, embroidery or fancy stud-work, and find nothing to dislike.

Finding the Perfect Pair

Forget diamonds; jeans can be your best friend as well. If they fit properly, they could be the new favourite thing in your wardrobe. It’s not easy to find the perfect pair, so be prepared to trawl aisles, check labels and fight off the other girl who is sniffing around the “super skinny super low” in 28/32.

With so many styles out there, it’s also hard to know which style will suit your body shape. Do you opt for skinny jeans, straight legged or boot cut? Slouchy boyfriend, ripped, black, pale wash or coloured? It may be helpful to do your research, as there are plenty of websites which are tailor made to help you choose the perfect style to suit your shape. Here’s a few:

A National Obsession

Many women in Britain admit to having more than thirty pairs of jeans, most of which go unworn. Some pairs are waiting patiently to be squeezed into after that half a stone has been shifted. Or it can work the other way around, with women holding on to their “fat girl” jeans to remind them to hold back on the takeaway pizza.  

The Genius of Jeans

Jeans are so practical and easy to pull on from day to day. Gone are the days when jeans were only suitable for cowboys, builders or women with perms in 80s movies.  

Struggling to pick an outfit? Reach for your jeans. They are great with a shirt or blouse on an evening out. Wear your old ones to decorate in and your new ones to party in. Plus, they’ll keep your legs toasty in winter. Rip them up in the summer, or chop the legs off altogether to fashion some DIY hot pants. Most of all though, the best way to wear them is with confidence.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

I was able to get this book for free from netgalley.com. If you don't know what NetGalley is, it's basically a website where you request unreleased titles for review in e-book format. It's completely free. This is the first book I ever received from NetGalley, and it's one that I've been wanting for a while now. I feel like I need to purchase a physical copy. Anyways, if you have a blog/Goodreads account, and like to do book reviews, NetGalley is perfect for you. Don't get discouraged when publishers don't accept your request, it's nothing personal, they're just sometimes picky!

This story was co-written by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. David wrote Dash's chapters, and Rachel wrote Lily's. The story follows Lily and Dash's winter break, sans parents. Dash finds a book on the shelves of his favorite bookstore, and so begins the journey of the book of dares.

It was a really light read, only 189 pages on my edition (e-book). Lily is this self proclaimed weirdo whose parents try to shelter. Throughout the book she tries to branch out, and discover more danger. All while pouring her heart out onto the pages of the moleskin book. Dash is a smart-alec smarty pants. He is so intelligent, and witty, and snarly, and such a funny character. I did prefer Dash over Lily, but both have their ups and downs. The characters are relatable and lovable.

I feel like this book captures exactly what I imagined a native New Yorker to feel around Christmas time. All the frustration with the shopping crowds, the monotony of New Years, and the typical Christmas themed tourist traps.

It's not my favorite book, but it's certainly one that was worth the read. I wish there was more in the ending, than the abrupt ending it had, I didn't get much closure. The book started out with Dash, finding the notebook, and completing the first tasks. I was surprised that the Lily from the first chapter (the book version) was not the Lily I imagined. She was weaker, and more delicate. This bothered me. The book was her brother's idea, but I felt a bit disconnected from her character for the first few chapters. I also have to wonder, do a lot of parents leave their teenagers alone on Christmas? Aside from Dash, a chunk of the other teens in this book seem to be alone for the holidays. Especially Lily's parents. I don't want to give anything away, but that whole thing seems odd, and quite selfish (if you've finished the book, I'm refering to the second reason they went there, the one that upset Lily).

Overall, I gave this book 4 stars on Goodreads. If you're looking for a quick seasonal read, I say go for it. This book was first published back in 2011, but was recently published in the UK! I am so glad that this book is being released in various countries, it really is perfect for the Christmas season.
