Someday Summery - Tuesday

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

I was flipping through some of last years photos from my trip to Indiana. I realized that this is one of the two times in my entire life that I have seen trees in that stage between green, and dead. I know, crazy right? This made me realize the other parts of this wonderful season that I miss out. Remember, I live in Florida. A tropical "paradise" lined with beaches, and sunshine. There is no changing of the leaves, no snow (I've never even seen snow), and the few trees that do change and die, I hardly notice because the surrounding greenery is, well, still green. The past few years, on Christmas, the temp has been in the 80s. I don't even own a winter jacket. I own plain, keep you warm when it's chilly, jackets. I wear flip flops when it's at its coldest (no colder than 30F). Some say it's depressing, sad, and I'm being robbed of a true Christmas experience. I say that it's all I know. It's my life, and to me, being surrounded by green, wearing a tank top, surrounded by family is what Christmas is to me.

Have you guys seen these yet? I found this at Target, didn't get it, then they were on clearance. How can I resist??? Anyways, it's supposed to be a french manicure duo. They have several different types of combinations, and you get two polishes in one little tube, thing. The bottles are small, but I think it's a great idea for travel. Any idea if they're going to keep doing these? I think they're a nifty idea.

Fall Colors- Revisited!

Saturday, November 3, 2012

Now that fall is here, I find myself drawn to completely different colors than the ones I previously suggested.

butter LONDON All Hail The Queen
Julep Eloise
Julep Caroline
China Glaze Foie Gras

I'm loving neutrals, and dark colors at the moment. Caroline screams fall to me. I want to quickly say why I've been MIA for most of the past 2 months. My camera is funky. My husband threw a bundle of sheets out of the bedroom a few months ago, and that bundle hit the wall. That same bundle was hiding my camera, for whatever reason. The ISO aka the part that focuses is messed up, and I have one heck of a time trying to get a decent picture. I'm weighing my options at the moment, and either way it's not looking cheap.

So, with that said, what's your favorite color to wear for fall? Do you follow the trends, or wear what you want to wear? I don't try to follow the trends. To be honest, I'm not even sure what color is "in" at the moment.

Influenster Beauty VoxBox

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Have you guys ever heard of Influenster? Well, it's a community of people, just like you (maybe more than you think) who take time to share their experience with products, brands, and thing that they love.
"Basically, Influenster is a place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products and experiences. Active members of Influenster get exclusive access to deals, promotions, and swag from brands that thrive off the input (the good, the bad, and the ugly -- they just want to know what's up)."
They have several different categories including; Eco, Gamer, Urbanite, Pop Culture, Beauty, Catnip, Blushing Bride, and even one for mothers. That's only a few. There's usually something there for everyone.

But what to do with these badges? With the badges you can get discounts, sales, and even a VoxBox or two! That's what's pictured above, a VoxBox. Now, the boxes are completely free, and are themed. When you qualify for one (usually means you have a badge already), you fill out a survey, and wait. They send you an e-mail if you qualify. The point of these boxes is to try the products out, and fill out surveys about them! Super simple.

This is my first box, and I must say that I am incredibly pleased with it. Only one item I cans see myself not using, and that is the lashes. But, I will still try them out.

Below, is what I received!

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin ($7.29)
It helps with updos. I'm extremely excited about this.

Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit ($5.99)
Comes with eyelashes (duh), adhesive, and applicator. Claims a 24-hour hold (no way I would wear them that long) with the latex-free glue.

Bath & Body Works Mini Candle ($3.50)
Pumpkin Cupcake. Also came with a coupon for a $10.00 3-wick candle.

NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact ($4.99)
Comes with four colors, a primer, and an illuminator.

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream ($6.00 for a full sized 4oz bottle)
"..fights out of control hair and reduces styling time.."

So, what do you think of Influenster? It's great for bloggers of all kinds. Wonderful way to dip your toes into reviewing for companies, and a great way to learn about new products! No, I am not being paid or compensated for talking about, if you were wondering. =D
